Ingredients

For 6 Serving(s)

Topping

1 cup(s) Grated Cheese (Monterey Jack/Cheddar)
1 cup(s) Shredded lettus
1 Tomato diced
1 cup(s) Refried Beans
1 cup(s) Guacamole
1 cup(s) Sour Cream

Recipe

1 medium onion, chopped
1 pound(s) Ground Beef (or 1/2 beef, 1/2 pork)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup(s) Tex-Mex Seasoning
2/3 cup(s) low-sodium beef broth
1 jar of Taco Seasoning (if needed)

Beef Tacos Directions

  1. Add 2 tablespoons of peanut oil to the skillet at a medium heat.
  2. Once the oil shimmers, add the onion and cook until softened and lightly browned around the edges, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground meat, 1 teaspoon salt, and garlic. Cook until browned, about 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, to break up the meat.
  4. Add Tex-Mex seasoning and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook, uncovered, until sauce is slightly thickened, 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Prepare toppings and serve.
